Melamine-formaldehyde resins etherified with n-butanol or lsobutanol are suitable starting materials for industrial and decorative baking enamels. In combination with alkyd resins, epoxy resins and acrylics, a finish is formed excellently suited for use on motorcars, refrigerators, washing machines, kitchen utensils etc. Melamine formaldehyde resins are also used in the production of shrink and wrinkle resistant textiles and with a silicone finish as water and stain repellant in rainwear manufacture. |
