About It all began in 1865 when Adolf Winkle founded his small craft shop. 5 years later he bought the first lathes for shoe lasts, supplied by a small water wheel. No lesser than Carl Benz, inventor of the automobile, delivered these first lathes for lasts.

At the turn of the century the then revolutionary Gilman last lathes were bought in the US. Lasts were now produced in series, increasingly so.

Shoe production was increasingly mechanized, raising the demands as to quality and resistance of the lasts. This is why, during the late 50ies, the raw material wood was replaced by the raw material plastics.

Besides lasts, Winkle now produced plastic heels and soles. Up to today we are one of the few suppliers worldwide

Who can offer you such a complete service for shoe bottoming parts.

In the following years we gathered comprehensive know-how in the processing of plastics and were able to invest it in a second range of production. The next line of production developed during the early 1970s: production of injectionmoulded technical plastic parts.

We employ standard plastic materials, but have also built up extensive know-how about two-component parts, about very soft plastics up to 200 shore A (e. G. For feeding rollers) as well as about high-tech materials such as PEEK to be used in pumps for chemicals and in medical engineering.

You will also encounter our products in household appliances, display articles, in mechanical and vehicle construction. In all these areas our products are subject to highest quality requirements. This is why our company has been certificated in accordance with the DIN ISO 9001: 2000.

Today, BRUEDER WINKLE is a medium-sized company with about 120 employees. Our headquarter is in Altenstadt an der Iller, in the heart of southern Germany, right beside the Autobahn A7. Besides a branch in Pirmasens, Palatinate, and a 100 percent owned subsidiary in Austria, we have cooperations and partnerships with several companies abroad.

For both production sections, we have many well-reputed and internationally successful customers who often count among the market and technology leaders in Germany and Europe.
