Foods Pacific Limited and its Group of Companies consisting of Tripacific Marine, and Pacific Feeds owned and headed by one of the Fiji Islands most successful local businessmen, the Groups Managing Director Mr Arvind Kant Patel affectionately known as George in the industry. Located within 5 km for the Port City of Suva, occupying 2 acre property at Wailada Industrial Estate, Foods Pacific boasts its latest in innovative state of art machinery and equipment for processing and packaging of its wide range of products to meet the demands from its wide markets, add to the jewel in the crown - the largest canned food production plant in Fiji with daily production up to 70,000 cans This being a single product namely canned corned beef. With increased market demand coupled with its own need for interim storage of frozen meat and other products, the Company embarked on a hi-tech project for a multimillion dollar cold store and ice making plant the largest in Fiji with a capacity for holding 2000 m/t of frozen foods commissioned in late 2003 adjacent to its food processing factory. The Group currently employs little over 450 employees. In addition to this, highly skilled professionals from Philippines, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and India replacing previous team from Australia and New Zealand, in key management positions to complement the entire local team. The Company recently introduced ethnic Indian foods targeting lucrative markets of migrant Indian nationals abroad. The facility specializing in North and South Indian cuisine is now geared to produce ready-to-eat meals and various Indian spices, pickles and sauces to meet the growing markets overseas. Since launching of our ready to eat brands last year, our products are now available throughout New Zealand and Australia. From customer feed back information it is abundantly clear that these have made inroad in the market. Aside from ethnic population, more and more of the westernized New Zealander and Australians are supporting our Brands. It is commonly becoming preferred product in a family meal. Time is now opportune to enter new markets, and Europe and UK markets. Promotional strategy is currently in the pipeline. |
