About | A profile of Jematex Textile Factory The Factory is the largest and most modern textile factory in the Sudan. It is owned by Alussra Company, whose owner is Mr. Mohamed Hassan Dafa'Allah, a businessman currently living in Sudan, where he manages his business from. The factory is situated in the City of Wad Madani, the second largest city in the Sudan, 180 kilometers from Khartoum. Wad Madani is the capital of Jazeera Project, occupying 2000. 000 acres of agricultural land and producing the largest amount of cotton in the world, recognized as the best kind of long fiber cotton. The factorys area is about 500. 000 SM. The buildings occupy about 30. 000 meters of the land. They represent three sections of the factory, which are spinning, weaving and finishing. The buildings also include maintenance workshops, stores, administrative offices, services sections, water treatment facilities and a clinic. These buildings were constructed by the international companies of: Z-CAVADIAS Company Greek, consulting engineers Civil Capcon Company British, construction works CFEM Company French, iron & steel works The trial operation of the Factory was carried out in 1984. Processing building is rectangular in shape, and is 120mX60m. The roofing & the sidings are insulated with polyurethane of mineral wood, sandwiched between the internal & external aluminum alloy sheets. False ceiling is provided at level 3. 6m over several areas of the building. The Finishing (processing) Unit, designed for making cotton cloth, is still in good condition.
