| About | In 2000, Matsutani Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. , Japan's leading producer of specialty food starches and maltodextrins, established Matsutani Korea, Incorporated, a wholly owned subsidiary headquartered in Korea. A research and development facility in Itami City, Japan, is where Matsutani's new and innovative products begin. In fact, Matsutani Korea's initial charge was to demonstrate to Korean food and beverage manufacturers the outstanding physical and chemical properties of their proprietary soluble dietary fiber: Fibersol-2. Fibersol-2 was originally produced in Japan and used in Japan for a number of years, but the production capacity was not sufficient to meet anticipated worldwide demand. Now Fibersol-2 is produced in Gunsan, South Korea, through an agreement with Daesang. Operational since 2006, this facility provides Fibersol-2 throughout the world. Matsutani Korea is proving itself to be a leader not only in Korean fiber market but in the larger market of food ingredients as well. |
