| About | William Crutchfield has been an artist / potter / designer since 1966. Currently William is designing rugs and and stonework in China. He also creates pottery with a copper finish which is treated with heat and Chemicals to create a silver and copper luster finish. William also applies epoxy coatings to stone and metal. He uses copper, oxides and ceramic stains to achieve a wide range of colors. The coating is durable and very resistant to the elements and can last for years with no fading. William also designs handwoven rugs and kilims in wool. The designs are inspired by Turkish, Persian and American Indian weavings from the mid 1800's and early 1900's. William's designs try to represent the early efforts of of village weavers of this period who aspired to achieve a high level of creativity in their weaving efforts. |
