A government agency that protects shippers interest. It is in Federal Ministry of Transportation just like Nigeria Ports Authority. It has the following fuctions: enlightenment, cargo protection. Nigerian Shippers' Council was established in 1978 with a sole aim of protecting the interest of importers and exporters. It helps registered importers and exporters to source for buyers / sellers of goods. It also enlighten shippers on best practices in International trade, import export procedures. The organisation has 3 departments; Technical Operations-deals with shippers (importers / exporters activities) , corporate planning-deals with research, management of information and planning and Finance and Admin-deals with Finance and administration |
