| About | The Banchio Group originated in 1968, when it started, buying and selling the catches made by trawlers fishing off the West African coast and unloading in Las Palmas (Canary Islands) . Since it was founded, the Banchio Group has become one of the leading importers and marketers of raw material fish in Europe, from the Mediterranean to Scandinavia. The Group's main business is focussed on using its international purchasing network to bring raw materials and processed products to its portfolio of European clients from the 5 oceans of the world. Although it started out trading mainly in Cephalopods (octopus, cuttlefish and squid) , the Banchio Group now has a strong presence in the areas of Shellfish (king prawns and shrimps) , Tuna species (Sword Fish, Tuna, Blue Shark, Mako Shark) and several Hake species (Hake and Kingclip) , etc. The Banchio Group now encompasses other activities, including production and catch at source, industrial processing; freezing and chilling and wholesale and retail sales and distribution of frozen, fresh and chilled products under its own trading label: Marafri.
