| About | Pachacuti was founded in 1992 by Carry Somers as a fair trade business with the aim of sourcing directly from producers and paying a fair price for products manufactured under good working conditions. Pachacuti works principally with small-scale cooperatives, community groups, workers' associations, mothers' clubs and family workshops. Over our years in business, Pachacuti has built lasting and supportive relationships with our suppliers. Pachacuti provides additional support wherever possible, sometimes paying expenses such as children's school fees or providing long term interest free loans for business development or accommodation. Pachacuti is a member of the British Association of Fair Trade Shops (BAFTS) who list us as an Approved Fair Trade Importer. Over 95% of Pachacuti's products are fairly traded according to BAFTS guidelines and our own rigorous fair trade policy. |
