| About | Tools USA is the primary marketing company of its parent, Standard Tool & Equipment Company. Standard manufactures over 190 products, primarily paint booths, frame straightening equipment and automotive lifts. Tools USA, via catalog, direct mail and the Internet, markets these products to body shops, automotive repair, restoration, government and industrial accounts. Tools USA was founded in 1979 by Clyde White, who was self-employed as a mobile jobber selling tools. He quickly saw an opportunity to specialize in collision repair tools and equipment. Once he focused on the body shop market he began to get requests for products that he could manufacture and resale. His initial equipment offering consisted of pulling posts, anchor pots, chain assemblies and finally, affordable frame straightening machines. The manufacturing grew rapidly and so did the distribution of paint, body & equipment (PBE) offerings. His primary marketing shifted from route sales in a small geographical market to nationwide distribution via monthly catalogs and eventually to a successful e-commerce business started in 1999. In 1996 Mr. White sold the business. Today Standard Tools & Equipment is privately owned by Mr. Turner and current CFO, Mike Kestler along with funding sources of Oberlin Capital and Gardiner Capital. The business continues to reflect a strong focus on product development with the objective of very competitive and affordable equipment sold through the most cost efficient distribution of direct and electronic marketing. This approach produces great savings for the customers involved with the company. The Tools USA plant and distribution center encompasses 66, 000 square feet of warehouse and manufacturing space, located on 18 acres along the I-85 / I-40 corridor in Greensboro, North Carolina.
