| About | UE offers participation in developmental oil and gas well projects designed to take advantage of the benefits of advanced geo-science technologies, such as 3-D seismic and the Schlumberger MRX logging, in proven, oil and gas producing areas. The company has evolved its business model in response to changes in the oil and gas industry and focuses on low risk, high reward drilling ventures frequently as a partner with other highly experienced and successful oil and gas companies with proven track records in the South Texas Gulf Coast, Louisiana Gulf coast and Mississippi. These areas are very attractive for several reasons: (1) they are mature onshore areas historically productive of Both oil and gas, but with great remaining oil and natural gas potential, particularly in deeper multiple Wilcox and Frio sands (2) they are areas with geological formations in which 3-D seismic interpretation has a high rate of success coupled with offset cross-sectional well log control (3) some areas are by-passed by majors for reasons of scale. Our goal continues to be the addition of oil and gas reserves and potential reserves, primarily using 3-D seismic driven developmental drilling. We believe that technological improvements and a select geographic and geological focus has reduced the risks historically associated with exploration and developmental drilling. We also believe that the long term direction for oil and natural gas prices will be to trend upward, and in such an environment, that low risk, high reward developmental drilling programs will be the most effective way to provide a high rate of return on investment to our investors. |
