Jaguar Silk Mills Pvt Ltd trades extensively in silk waste and the production of spun silk and noil yarn. Our activities began with silk waste trading in the early ninety sixties. The large-scale supply of silk waste to various silk spinning units in the country soon expanded to the export of surplus material in the state, earning valuable foreign exchange. A prominent standing in export led to subsequent interactions with leading spun silk manufacturers in Japan, Korea and Italy. In 2005 strategic alliances were made and a unit for degumming silk waste was set-up in technical collaboration with M/s. Kanebo Spun Silk Ltd., Japan. The silk tops produced here meet international quality standards and are exported to Japan. The year 2008 saw more such units being initiated leading to the establishment of a full fledged spun silk unit in the rural Chikkaballapura taluk, Chikkaballapura Dist., with technical assistance from M/s. Samyang Co. Ltd., South Korea in the field of combing and spinning. The unit, with an installed capacity of 1500 spindles and a workforce of over 150 personnel, has acquired world-class technical know-how and is now producing around 3MT of spun silk in 2/60S, 2/140S and 2/210S Counts and 2 MT of noil yarn per month. It caters to the needs of the silk export sector, silk carpet manufacturers of Kashmir and the manufacturers and exporters of dress materials and furnishing fabrics elsewhere in the country. |
